I redesigned Kristin Hannah's "True Colors" to focus more on the significance of the horse within the story. I wanted the main subject to have the most color by editing a photo within Photoshop with filters and removing the background. I also added the farm background within the circle, behind the horse, to add texture as well as tying back to the story.
The House on Laughing Gull Lane is a made up story that I created in remembrance to one of my childhood homes. I took the photo with my iPhone and edited it within Photoshop. I added different size effects to the same photo on top of each other to feel like a memory. Sometimes our memories are clear but still hard to focus.
As a fan of Stephen King's old paperback covers, I wanted to try my take on one of his newer novels, Billy Summers. I found the free stock image and edited it on Photoshop to tie back to the original cover and the car's headlights. For the typeface I wanted to have a gothic sans serif font to tie back to older paperbacks from my childhood.
